3 Day Refresh Results

11/21/14

It takes a lot of courage to post before and after pictures. Its really quite scary.
You begin your journey in a place of dissatisfaction and you end your journey with confidence and a healthy body that loves you for nourishing it with exercise and nutrition.

Before I started the 3 Day Refresh, I had put on a few extra pounds. I wasn't comfortable in my skin like I was in the past. After I completed T25 I was a whole new person, I felt better, acted better and WAS BETTER, but a week ago, I was none of those things.

Thats all I wanted was another program to give me that same feeling! So as I started my journey I knew that T25 was not easy, it took hard work and time. And if I wanted to see results and BE BETTER I was going to have to put in the same work to accomplish what I set out to do.

So I decided to become disciplined! 3 days- I needed to put hard work in for 3 days, anyone can do anything for 3 days, right?!!!

I was embarrassed of my before photo. WHY!
Because I was at a place in my life where I wasnt comfortable and a place where I didnt want to be.

BUT

I got to thinking, I tell people in my challenge groups all the time not to be embarrassed of their BEFORE photos, because they are called before photos for a reason. You are working towards something bigger and greater then where you currently are. Your after photos are called AFTER because after you have worked hard for something, you will see results.

So with that being said... here are my results!!!

I started at 124 pounds and am currently 120 pounds!

Look at the difference in my inner thighs and upper stomach!

I know it looks like I am pushing out, but I am not, I have horrible posture.

Its amazing what 3 days can do!!

Are you ready to change your habits and lose a couple pounds that are stuck before the holidays?

If so, head over to

How to make Reese's?

11/10/14

Who doesnt like Reese's?

I know that when they are in my house they get eaten so quickly.

So I decided to make a healthy version of Reese's, this way when I eat one, I dont feel guilty.

Ohh and did I mention, you need 4 ingredients and it takes less that 10 minutes to make!!

What you need:
2 tbsp Coconut oil
4 tbsp Chocolate Shakeology
2 tbsp PB2
2 tsp water

Step 1:
Heat up coconut oil for 30 seconds in the microwave.

Step 2:
Add in your Shakeology and stir.

Step 3:
Mix your PB2 and water.

Step 4:
Poor Shakeology mixture into the bottom of cupcake wrappers (we only had normal cupcake wrappers, but when you make this yourself, get the mini wrappers).
Poor some of your peanut butter mixture.
Lastly, finish with your top layer of Shakeology mixture.

Step 5:
Put them in the freezer for 10-15 minutes and enjoy!!!

So I made the Shakeology Reese's and of course wanted to try them to give you my honest review of how they turned out.

I put way too much chocolate in them. Ya know how normal Reese's have more Peanut Butter than they do chocolate? Well mine were opposite. So next time I need to change that. If you like a lot of chocolate, it might not bother you as much, but for me... I am not a chocolate LOVER.

Second--- I am a PEANUT BUTTER FREAK, and I didnt the PB2 was strong enough, you could taste it, but it was really a faint taste. So the next time I make them, I am going to use almond butter instead!!

I think I am going to make these sometime this week with the changes I think will help!!
**I am on the hunt for the mini cupcake wrappers, so let me know if you find any!!

Are You Ready To Change Your Life?

10/20/14

I cant believe that its been almost one year that I decided to turn my life around.

In December 2013, I decided that I was sick of feeling bloated all the time, sick of not eating healthy, sick of not being active.

BUTTTTT, I had no self esteem when I started and no confidence. I had tons of workout programs at my house but I never completed any of them. So when I started T25, I already thought I was going to fail. I couldnt even make it through Brazil Butt Lift and that was only a 4 week program, how was I going to make it through an 8 week program.

So I dove into T25.
I made it through the first week.
I made it through 30 days.
I made it through 60 days.

I completed my first workout program!!

Completing that program changed everything about me.
I now had confidence.
I now believed in myself.
I now had a different outlook on life.

Haley and I just completed our first "7 Day Clean Eating Challenge Group" and it was so awesome! (P.S. Go check out Haleys Blog, its awesome)

We had women in our challenge that lost 5-10 pound in literally 7 days!! How awesome is that?

Haley and I are teaming up again on October 27, 2014. We are going to run a 21 day challenge group. The program is focused on clean eating and short 30 minute workouts. Ohh and I forgot to mention the fitness instructor is smoking hot, her abs are to die for.
We will be bringing you recipes, our personal grocery lists, support, accountability and lots of fun!!!

Think about your life a year from now, 6 months from now, or 2 months from now.
The time is going to pass whether you take action or not.

Where will you be in a year?

What Is Missing In My Life?

9/23/14

I am doing a Beachbody workout right now called Body Beast!

Another coach and I decided that we would do Body Beast together to keep each other accountable! And so far I'm LOVING it!

I will tell you more about Body Beast in a couple days when I finish my first "phase" of the program!

So as much as I love the program I felt like I was starting to get a little pudge around my stomach! There is cardio once a week in Body Beast but it wasn't cutting it for me.

I NEED cardio in my life. I didn't want to stop Body Beast because I love it!
Sooo it was hard to figure out what I was going to do to make sure I got my cardio and lifting in!

For anyone what knows me, when I run I "need" to talk to someone. It's weird but I like talking while I run. That was my excuse for a while "well if noone runs with me who will I talk to?" "I don't want anyone to see my while I run, it's embarrassing" And I came up with the excuse "5:30? I have to wake up at 5:30 to run?"
News flash Kaitlyn, if you don't get up and run, no one is goin to run for you. If you don't get up and run Kaitlyn, you never will.

Anyone else plan on getting up at 5:30 with me to make sure they get some sort of workout in before you make tons of excuses!?

How Much Money Do You Make As A Beachbody Coach?

9/7/14

Do you want to know a little secret about me that I haven't shared with anyone except my family?

You do? Okay good, keep reading then.
Now please understand what you are going read is not to brag or boast. I hate talking about money because growing up, we really didn't have any. My mom was a single parent trying to make ends meet and give my sister and I everything we could, so that we would fit in.

So back to the question, how much do I make as a Beachbody Coach?

It varies month to month and week to week. But, I make enough money being a Beachbody Coach to pay for my STUDENT LOANS every month!!!
You're probably thinking big deal I make enough to pay for my car, phone, insurance, student loans and apartment. Well yeah you probably do and that is awesome! But the money I make being a coach is just extra money that I make aside from nannying. How nice would it be to have an extra $100, $200 or $500 a month that you could use it on bills, vacation or put it away and save it!

Here is what I made for the month of August and the beginning of September! And its all by helping people live a healthier lifestyle and encouraging them!

If you dont know this about me, I've went to 4 different colleges in a matter of 2 years. Yeah scary right? The first school I went to (Niagara University) I went for Hospitality Management. I wanted to be a wedding planner, and as much as I still would love to plan other peoples weddings ALL DAY EVERYDAY, I knew that I didnt want to spend 80 hours a week away from my future family-- so I racked up about $13,000 of debt from one semester there. Went to Alfred University and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh built up more debt (Im not sure the amount anymore because I have paid that off). And lastly decided to go to a Community College and get my Marketing degree and I now have DEBT from there.

Lets be honest for a second, in today's society everyone has debt, everyone is struggling and everyone has a credit card to help make things easier.

Well I don't want to be that person. Credit Cards scare the CRAP out of me. Every time one comes in the mail, I put it in the garbage IMMEDIATELY!! I dont want to be in debt, miserable because I cant do things that I enjoy! Being a Beachbody Coach gives me that extra cash so that I can get out of debt and so that I do not need to ever use a credit card!

So for all my friends, family, and customers who trust my advice and knowledge about fitness, Shakeology and Beachbody programs... I THANK YOU! Your belief in me is helping me continue to stay on the DEBT FREE path!

So now that I let you in on one of the most personal things in my life, my question for you is...
Are you ready to take control of your life?
Pay off some bills?
Get in better shape?

If you want to find out more about what I do, find me on Facbook: https://www.facebook.com/ORourkeKa and send me a quick message!

Dreamers & Doers

9/1/14

For anyone that has looked at my blog before now, you can see that my blog got a little makeover recently!!! Wooohooo because I love its new makeover!!! My blog has also gotten a new name. The reason for both of these changes is 1. I wanted a blog that was more professional. I felt like my blog before wasn't up to par, it wasn't representing ME. And 2. The reason for the name change... I have always been a dreamer, I still am, but the difference between how I used to dream was that I thought those dreams would never come true. Now when I dream, I know that I will eventually turn that DREAM into a reality. I will do what I set out to DO.

So with that being said... I have been given an amazing opportunity Beachbody to be a Beachbody Coach. I get to help other people reach their health and fitness goals, while also reaching mine. I get to make amazing life long friends with like minded people. I get paid to help other people, while I work from home.

I have talked to quite a few people lately that tell me, I make enough money and I like my job, so I have a dream job. WRONG!!! Do you really think you have a DREAM JOB? Do you get to take off whenever you want for however long you want? Do you answer to you boss everyday? If you just answered that you have to check in with your boss everyday, you don't have the dream job! You don't have the freedom to do what you want. How can you enjoy life and experience new things with one weeks worth of vacation a year?

This past week I did a lot of thinking... Long story short about my job, I love the families I work for but working for them isn't my dream job. I love making connections with the families and how well they treat and take care of me but I want to help more people, and reach more people. I know what I want in my DREAM JOB, I want to control how much money I make, I want to choose when I can take off, I want to know that what I am doing is helping other people and that I am making an impact on their life, I want to be my own boss and NOT have to listen to someone else telling me what to do.

So my point of changing up my blog and making my new blog name Dreamers & Doers is because I've decided to change my life and not just Dream of my DREAM JOB, but to DREAM and DO my DREAM JOB.

Happy Labor Day!

Why Beachbody Coaching Has Become My Career

7/18/14

This post is well overdue.

I am a Beachbody Coach. I am not some crazy health nut that ONLY works out and eats healthy, I have a life too and I love junk food, probably just like you do. But I know that if I choose to eat unhealthy and not to workout I will be hurting my health and body, one day at a time. Trust me people, I wish I could eat PIZZA everyday of my life.

So now that you know I am normal.... Ill tell you a little bit about what being a Beachbody Coach means!!!
It means that I want to help other people become their best self through health and fitness. But here is the thing, I am not some salesman that is trying to make as many sales as I can  to get as much money as I can. And I'm not going to rip you off with a product that is crap. I am a CUSTOMER, just like you. The only difference is I signed up as a coach because I saw for myself how amazing Beachbody products are and I want to share that with other people. I want to pay it forward by helping others get in the best shape of their lives.

I've decided that this is my career choice. Is it conventional? No, but neither am I!
Before going to college I had no clue what I wanted to do with my life, I probably chose every career choice out there because I had no clue what was right for me. Before I went to college I made a list of things that were non-negotiable for my career choice.
*I wanted to help someone every single day
*I wanted to make an impact in someones life
*I wanted to go to work and not feel like I was working every day
*I wanted to work from home (because I want to be a mommy, first and foremost...someday)

Being a coach meets every single thing on my list. I have never been this passionate about something before. Anytime someone talks to me about being a coach it gives me butterflies in my stomach and 90% of the time I end up crying during the conversation.
I put so much of my time and energy into this because I am so passionate about it. And let me ask you something, if you were making this your career wouldn't you put all your time and effort into it?
EXACTLY!
I don't want a normal 9-5 job. I want to work hard, love what I do, and be passionate about helping other people do the same.

I'm going back to the beginning of this post when I said I was nervous to tell people that I am a Beachbody Coach...

I am a completely introverted person. I would rather someone approach me asking about Beachbody and their amazing products first but I have slowly started to realize that there are other people that are introverted and NEED me to reach out to them.

After reading this, if you have wanted to start a program or try Shakeology but have been to nervous to approach me, or if you've wanted to ask me something about Beachbody or are interested in coaching, or if you just want someone to talk to who will listen... Message me on facebook.

What is the 21 Day Fix?

7/9/14

I wanna explain a little about the 21 Day fix, before I start telling you about my journey.

The "fix" as people call it, is super easy and the creator of it-- Autumn Calabrese has literally done all the work for you. She provides you with 30 minute workouts for 7 days a week. Yes people, you have to workout for 7 days a week.. but do you really think it is that bad when she has shortened your daily workouts down to 30 minutes.. I think not! When you order the workout program it also comes with color coded containers, so that you can portion on your food to make sure that you aren't OVER eating and you aren't UNDER eating. PORTION CONTROL makes a big difference in seeing those results, whether you are eating too much or not enough. Oh and another awesome thing she has done for you, she gives you a booklet that gives you ideas for food choices. You can just open up that handy book, pick your foods to go into the containers and ta da it's done! There is really no guessing with this program. You eat TONS of food, workout for 30 minutes and get results.

So here's a little preview on what day 1 and 2 have been like.

DAY 1.. well I screwed up the meal planning and I didn't have my 3 servings of veggies. Oh well it was my first day, ya cant let it bring you down.

I was scared when I started this program because I am a hug coffee drinker, and wasn't sure if I was going to be able to have my cup of coffee every morning. I need my cup in the morning and I load it with cream and sugar. I was nervous about drinking my coffee black but thankfully with this awesome program Autumn suggested to put organic AGAVE in your coffee. And HOLY CRAP she was so right!!!!! I will not put cream and sugar in my coffee EVER again. I'm a coffee and AGAVE drinker now!

Here is what the past couple days have looked like. I just made one list of what my day has looked like because both days are so similar. I am just lazy and don't like to plan out a ton of different meals for everyday.

Breakfast:
Whole wheat toast (yellow)
Turkey bacon (red)
Strawberries (purple)

Snack:
Almonds (blue)
Strawberries (purple)
Cucumbers (green)

Lunch:
Shakeology (red)

Snack:
Ham/hard boiled eggs (red)
Olives (orange)

Dinner:
Chicken/Pork tenderloin (red)
Rice (orange)
Zucchini/Broccoli/Beans (2 greens)
Extra Virgin Olive Oil (2 Spoons)

When I am eating the foods, I get full pretty quickly and a half hour after I am done with my meal I am hungry again. I'm not sure if a lot of people are experiencing this.

I told myself that I wouldn't weigh myself until the first 7 days were completed but I couldn't help myself because I already feel lighter and I am down a pound!! Woot Woot!

DAYS 3,4, and 5 have been tough. I have had so many temptations. I am talking about PIZZA AND FUNNEL CAKES, 2 of my absolute FAVORITE things!!

It honestly feels so good to say no though, I couldn't be more proud of myself, I give into those things pretty easily. Bottom line, I love junk food.

Can I have pizza on the 21 Day Fix?! Yes I can, and most likely I will have it one day. But not today. And here's why.

I am working my butt off to finish this program. I want to finish it for myself and to show others they can also finish this program. I do not want one, little slice of pizza to give me cravings later that day or later in the upcoming weeks. I know that if I have junk food, I will crave junk food. And of course, Shakeology is definitely helping me out with those cravings. Honestly I've had one craving and that was a brownie with peanut butter frosting.
So the one day that I was tempted with the funnel cake. I knew that there would be funnel cakes, fries, burgers, etc. at the carnival. So I made sure that I had my Shakeology on the way there so I would not give in because when I'm hungry, I give in A LOT!

Since I was sooooo extremely good the past 4 days, I rewarded myself with a 21 day fix approved glass of wine. If I sit down and have a glass of wine with my mom I normally pour way to much into the glass and go back for seconds, this definitely showed that I need to work on that portion control. But hey at least I got to have a little glass of wine which is better than no glass at all!

“He who fails to plan is planning to fail"
-Winston Churchill
I've heard this quote about 100 times but I didn't really get it. I always think "I'm a planner and a very organized person, and I don't fail all time time. I don't need to plan, I'll be fine."
Now I truly understand what this quote means and why it is so important. Do you know why we give into those horrible foods?
Because we are hungry and vulnerable.

Everyday for the past 5 days, I HAVE prepped my meals and I haven't given in to those awful foods either. I know that I wont be able to pass up these foods if I don't prep. If you are like me and you give into these types of things, you need to start meal prepping, end of story.

Week one is complete.
Here's an overview:
I worked out for 30 minutes everyday, most days around 6 am.
I meal prepped everyday to make sure that I never went hungry.
I only ate the food that was in the booklet.
I didn't have any cheat meals or restaurant (21 day fix approved) meals.
One day, I decided to do 3 workouts just to try out the extra ones that came with Fix.
I drank a glass of wine one day while being on the Fix.
I haven't missed one day of drinking Shakeology.
I have lost 1 pound for far.

Week 2!!

I think week 2, so far, has been harder than week 1. I do not know why but I have been craving foods a little more than I did in week one. The cravings I have last for an hour and then they are gone but I would rather not have any at all.

Today is my half way mark with the program and I have to say I am feeling pretty good. I have not checked my measurements at all but I do think that I have lost some inches because I am feeling lighter.

Last night for dinner we went above and beyond our normal meals and had chicken wraps. Normally, we have just chicken/fish and a veggie. But the chicken wrap was delicious. Its hard to see that there is actually chicken on that wrap with all the other delicious things that were on it.
P.S. Last night was my first time having cheese since being on the fix. I never thought I would be able to go a week and a half without cheese.

Is College Really For Me?

6/7/14

Hey guys,

I'm Kate!

I am definitely a flip flopper.
I decided to go to college for Hospitality Management at Niagara University, I wanted to be a wedding planner! I just love all the detail and prep that goes along with weddings. But the more I thought about it I realized that when I did have a family, I wanted to be there for my kids soccer game or dance recitals. I knew that if I continued with wedding planning that I would be working 80+ hours a week and I wouldn't be around for important events.

But one thing I gained while going to NU was a BESTFRIEND, Brittney <3

Shes perfect! And is such an amazing person to grow and learn from! She has an amazing story behind her, and is one of the strongest people you will ever meet. She also is one of the most caring people and I am so blessed to know and learn so much from her!

So while taking that semester off I thought I wanted to do photography and then I wanted to go back to school for nutrition and then get a business degree... Lets just say none of those happened.

Fall of 2012 I decided to go to Finger Lakes Community College. I was really hard on myself for going to a community college. Everyone made such a big deal that I had went from a university to a community school... but I decided going to school for something was better than not going back at all. Knowledge is POWER! Well sure enough I went back to the whole business idea, I decided to get my degree in marketing.

I finally got my degree, something that I really didn't think I would ever accomplish!!!

Ohh, and I met this other amazing person while at school, Taylor. I really don't think we would have survived college without each other!
While going to school I realized that I NEVER want to work for a marketing firm, and I NEVER want to work for someone else. I want to work for MYSELF and make my own hours and do what makes ME happy.

So this brings me to January 2014, I changed my life. I decided that I not only want to start being healthy but I need to be. I need to workout everyday to be happy and feel good about myself, I need to eat healthy to be healthy on the inside and out.

T25 and shakeology were my saving grace. I learned a lot about myself and how strong I AM!
I now am a Beachbody Coach, paying it forward to other people who want to see internal and external changes and realize their full potential just like I realized mine.

I have some pretty amazing people in my life that have helped me while I struggled, while I succeeded and everything else in between. They make me a better person everyday and I really don't know where I would be without them!

My Mom and sister!! And as you can see they are GORGEOUS too!!
They only want to see me happy, whether or not the decision I make is right, they just want to see my smile! Ohh and both of them always put my needs or wants before their own!

And my boyfriend, MARK!!!
He always puts things into perspective for me and brings me back to reality. He is constantly challenging me so that I can grow to be a better person!
