How to clean makeup brushes
Have you ever wondered how to clean your make up brushes?
Its so quick and easy!!!
4. A plate
Start by pouring olive oil onto the plate. Any amount will do.

Take your dirty brushes and start rubbing them all around in the mixture. I make sure that when I am washing my brushes I make sure to get the whole brush washed, make sure that your mixture is getting all the way up to the metal of the brush.
Your mixture should start to look like this...
Once it starts looking like this... I wash my plate off and put fresh olive oil and dish soap on the plate.
After all your brushes are soapy with the olive oil and soap, rinse them off with warm water and lay them on a towel flat to dry. I wash my brushes in the morning, let them sit all day and night and then by morning the next day they are ready to use again. They need about 24 hours to dry, so dont think an hour after washing them, you will be able to use them!!
Why should you lay your brushes out flat?
It will make the brushes last longer. When you set them upright it allows water to get into the metal part of the brush, that holds all the fibers! Eventually the metal part will detach from the handle from all the water that has settled.
Tips to know:
You can dry them by hanging them UPSIDE DOWN.
Before I lay my brushes on the towel, I tap them off on the towel, and then lay them out.
Why should you wash your brushes regularly?
First of all you should be washing your brushes once a week. But Ill be honest with you, life gets in the way and I forget.
BUT...
Here is why you should... by not cleaning your brushes, it can lead to unwanted pimples and skin problems.
I had let my brushes go way too long. I started noticing that my makeup was looking cakey and that my skin was getting break outs for no reason. And then realized that it had been a while since I had washed my brushes! I washed them and it has made a huge difference in how my makeup looks.

We all know that I like a before and after picture, so here is a dirty brush, compared to it being cleaned.
HUGE difference right?!
How to get rid of dark circles under your eyes?
I'm all about trying new beauty products. I don't know what it is about make up but I'm a complete sucker for new makeup and trying out new brands. I came across this brand from a makeup artist on Instagram who does Chalene Johnsons makeup. I saw picture of Chalene and she looked FLAWLESS but figured, Chalene is a celebrity, I'm sure she spent a ton of money on her makeup to have it look that great. I found out the makeup was called "It Cosmetics".
I tried to forget about the "It Cosmetics" makeup that Chalene used until my boyfriends sister went out and bought "It Cosmetics" makeup and told me that I needed to try this "It Cosmetics" makeup called "Bye Bye Undereye" from Ulta. I almost popped my pants when I found out the same makeup that celebrities wear was right at Ulta!! I was using a "Nars" concealer and a "Smashbox" concealer, both from Sephora and neither were doing the trick. When I first applied both the Nars and Smashbox concealer, my makeup looked great but as the day went on my makeup wore away! And for the dark cycles I have, I can't have my makeup wearing away-- I would look like a zombie!
Zombie face in full effect!
So I bought this: Bye Bye Undereye that looks like this. I wanted to try it out for myself.
Pretty much amazingness in a tube!!!
It's actually pretty big and a little bit goes a long ways
The consistency is kinda sticky. So I apply the "Bye Bye Undereye" first and then apply the rest of my makeup and seal my makeup with a powder. After you apply the powder you undereyes aren't sticky anymore!
I also decided that if it worked for my dark circles, it must work for zits and blemishes-- sure enough it does!
I swear this stuff has a secret ingredient
I know I look gross in these photos, I was in a hurry this morning when I was doing my "makeup". When I actually do my make up completely, it looks way better. Here is what I look like when Im fully ready and dont look like a wet dog!
Has anyone else out there tried fake lashes?
Yeah they suck. For some reason I can never seem to make sure they are lined up perfectly or make sure they stay on all day/night. When I wear them I am constantly checking to make sure that they aren't falling off and I look like a weirdo. I feel vain when I wear them because I am constantly looking at myself in the mirror, ewwy!
I have tried so many different kinds of mascara, ones from Walmart to ones from Sephora. Don't get me wrong they do work but they weren't giving me the fullness that I was looking for. I have long eye lashes to begin with but I felt like my eyelashes could use a little more umph!!
Randomly I started to see a bunch of ads on my Facebook and people posting on my Instagram about these 3D lashes... so I became intrigued. Did a little research and found AMAZING pictures of people who were using this Younique 3D mascara. So I decided to order and give it a try and boy am I happy I did!!!!!
Don't mind my nasty eye brows that need to be waxed.. but here is what the mascara did for my eyelashes!!
This is my eyelashes without any mascara on.
My left lashes have the Younique mascara on and the right lashes don't.
Both eyes have the mascara on.
Honestly this is one of the best purchases I have made in a while. I love how full my eyelashes FINALLY look!
So here's how it works.
So here's how it works.
1. Apply a layer of your own personal mascara to both sides of your lashes, I use Maybelline - The Falsies Volume Express .
2. Apply a layer of the Younique Moodstruck Transplanting Gel.
3. Apply a layer of the Younique Moodstruck Natural Fibers, quickly before the Transplanting Gel dries.
4. Apply another layer of the Younique Moodstruck Transplanting Gel.
So now you are probably thinking.., this is too good to be true. My eyes are going to get infected and its probably something that I'll have an allergic reaction to because there are tons of chemicals in it... WRONG!!!
They tell you every ingredient that is in the product and explain to you what it is used for, check it out for yourself and let see what your lashes look like with this Younique 3D Mascara!
Tell Sabrina Marsh I sent you!!
