Insanity Max 30 Review

12/29/14

Yesterday was the beginning of my week 3 with Insanity Max 30. And lets just say that I am completely in love with the program.

I have the workout program Insanity but I never completed the program. Why you might ask?

Because its fricken hard and super intense, hence the name INSANITY, only INSANE people actually finish it!! Im kidding! But honestly it is extremely hard, and I am NOT ready to complete a 60 minute Insanity program. Shaun T sure knows how to kick your butt. Maybe after Insanity Max 30, I will graduate on up to Insanity.

So what is Insanity Max 30?

It is like Insanity, but instead of a 60 minute workout, it is only 30 minutes.

Shaun T (my favorite celebrity trainer through Beachbody) has created new moves so you can get a complete workout in 30 minutes. Instead of the moves being easy, he pushes you to your MAX, that's why its called Insanity MAX 30. You push yourself as hard as you can and once you need to take a break to catch your breath, or a water break, you have maxed out. Just because you 'max' out at 7:54 doesn't mean you are done with your workout for the day, you get yourself back in the game and keep pushing for the rest of the 30 minutes.

This program has made me so sore. Literally every muscle in my body was aching after my first day and for my first week I did the modifier! No matter what level of fitness you are at, there are still options for you to complete this program and see results.

I started week 3 yesterday, and my legs are starting to gain muscle, I can see it and feel it. And that is the area I need to work on most, I cant wait to see what my results will be at the end of this program.

Ive had many people ask me which I like better Insanity Max 30 or T25. T25 was the first program I have ever completed and it WAS my favorite program for a while, but I think T25 is now my second favorite, because I have found a new LOVE Insanity Max 30!!

Burlap Welcome Wreath

12/22/14

How to make this easy burlap wreath!!!
The hardest part of this wreath is finding all of the materials!!

The picture above is the one that I found off of Pinterest.

What you'll need (and where to find it):

  • Foam Wreath (Michael's)
  • Thick Burlap (Walmart)
  • Chevron Burlap (Walmart)
  • Flowers with Burlap Petals (Hobby Lobby)
  • Sparkles (Michael's)
  • Tacky Glue (Walmart)
  • Scrabble Letters (Amazon)
  • Hot glue (Any craft store)

    Now lets get started!!

Start by hot gluing the end of the burlap onto the foam. You are going to overlap the burlap. If you don't, you will be able to see some of the foam through the burlap. Every time you go around the wreath once with the burlap, you want to make sure that you secure the burlap with a small amount of hot glue.

Once the burlap starts to bunch, you are going to want to cut the burlap. Then begin wrapping the burlap again.

I couldn't find the exact color glitter that I wanted, so I bought this packet of glitter and I mixed the 3 middle colors, the 2 golds and the bronze color.

P.S. Notice the cute dog in the background!!! ;)

I mixed it in a zip lock bag and then cut a hole on the corner of the bag.

Then I glued the middle of the flower. I took a plastic knife and I spread the glue all around in the middle. I didn't worry too much about getting the glue out to the black part of the flower, I just made sure that there was a lot of glue in the middle.

P.S. Your flowers will come with stems on them, you will need to cut the stems off with wire cutters. And be careful the wire is very sharp!

Then with the bag of glitter (with the hole cut) I started sprinkling the glitter in the middle.
If you do all the glittering and gluing over a paper plate, it saves a lot of clean up time and it saves you from having a huge mess.

Finished product of the flowers

I took the hot glue to the back side of flowers and glued them onto the wreath.

I then made my bow. It took me a while to make because I am a perfectionist. But you make the bow exactly how you tie your shoe.  Once you have the bow exactly how you want it, you glue it onto the wreath. Since the burlap bow is wired, you can form the bow tails to sit however you want on the wreath. Once the tails were exactly how I wanted them, I tacked them with a little hot glue.

And LASTLY, you put your scrabble pieces on. You can spell anything with the scrabble pieces, I liked the welcome, but you could also do someones last name!

Here is what my wreath looks like!!!

Happy DIYing!! I would love to see the DIY things you make!! Comment below!!!

How to Clean Makeup Brushes

12/15/14

Have you ever wondered how to clean your make up brushes?
Its so quick and easy!!!

What you need:
1. Dirty brushes
2. Olive Oil
3. Dish Soap
4. A plate

Start by pouring olive oil onto the plate. Any amount will do.

Next pour some dish soap onto the plate. Try to make the amount of olive oil and dish soap equal.

Take your dirty brushes and start rubbing them all around in the mixture. I make sure that when I am washing my brushes I make sure to get the whole brush washed, make sure that your mixture is getting all the way up to the metal of the brush.

Your mixture should start to look like this...

Once it starts looking like this... I wash my plate off and put fresh olive oil and dish soap on the plate.

After all your brushes are soapy with the olive oil and soap, rinse them off with warm water and lay them on a towel flat to dry. I wash my brushes in the morning, let them sit all day and night and then by morning the next day they are ready to use again. They need about 24 hours to dry, so dont think an hour after washing them, you will be able to use them!!

Why should you lay your brushes out flat?
It will make the brushes last longer. When you set them upright it allows water to get into the metal part of the brush, that holds all the fibers! Eventually the metal part will detach from the handle from all the water that has settled.

Tips to know:

You can dry them by hanging them UPSIDE DOWN.

Before I lay my brushes on the towel, I tap them off on the towel, and then lay them out.

Why should you wash your brushes regularly?

First of all you should be washing your brushes once a week. But Ill be honest with you, life gets in the way and I forget.
BUT...
Here is why you should... by not cleaning your brushes, it can lead to unwanted pimples and skin problems.

I had let my brushes go way too long. I started noticing that my makeup was looking cakey and that my skin was getting break outs for no reason. And then realized that it had been a while since I had washed my brushes! I washed them and it has made a huge difference in how my makeup looks.

We all know that I like a before and after picture, so here is a dirty brush, compared to it being cleaned.
HUGE difference right?!

I hope you enjoy!!!

Sea Salt Caramel Shakeology Recipe

12/8/14

If you are anything like me, you LOVE sweet treats. Honestly every night after dinner, I want something sweet (I take after my mom)!!! There are so many times, I want to drive to our local store, Wegmans and get their delicious Sugar Cookies, they are literally to die for!! But lets be honest, those cookies dont love me back and its not worth eating one cookie and ruining a whole weeks worth of healthy eating.

A couple months ago I found this recipe and decided I needed to try it out for myself.

I actually am drinking it as we speak! Today is my first time trying it!!!

So here is how I feel about Sea Salt Caramel Shakeology!!!
Honestly, I wasnt expecting it to taste much caramel because to me chocolate Shakeology is a strong chocolate taste and I am really not much of a chocolate person, so I dont really drink the chocolate Shakeology much. But, this recipe, you can TOTALLY taste the caramel and the chocolate doesnt taste as strong!

I downed my shakeology this morning it was so good!

Here is the Recipe!!!!!

Im not really a person who measures, so just bare with me!!

  • 6 ice cubes
  • 1 scoop of chocolate shakeology
  • 1 splash of caramel extract (I read somewhere that people were having a hard time finding the caramel extract, but I found my at good ole WALMART)
  • Put all your ingredients in the blender, and start putting water in the blender until it fills up a little past all your ingredients. (I told you I didnt measure, haha)
  • Blend it all together!!!
  • Pour it into your cup and sprinkle a little sea salt on the top of your Shakeology!!!
